THE HOME OF TAMIYA RYU IAI IN EUROPE.
YOUKOSO ! WELCOME !
Hakone Jinjya is one of the most famous shrines in Japan and has been honoured from ancient times as "Hakone Gongen" (The great incarnation of deity in Hakone).
It has a wonderfull Budohall in witch the yearly 8th dan, Hanshi iaido taikai was hosted.
It is also the practicehall for Tamiya Ryu iai.
Welcome to the homepage of Agehachô Budôkai : the Budo Association of the Swallowtail Butterfly.
This is a non-profit volunteer group in Belgium dedicated to research and training in the art of iaido, and more specific Tamiya Ryu Iai.
The name of the organisation is refering to the name of the Kamon (family crest) of the Katsumata family which is called : "Ageha no chô" : a butterfly with erected wings. It is the courtesy of our sensei Katsumata Kenichi, 8dan kyoshi, to let us use his crest.
This organisation is the Home of Tamiya Ryu Iai (world-wide) with study groups in France, Guadeloupe, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Hungary, Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Jordan, Romania, Australia and Libanon.
We are members of the Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei, therefore you will also find some feedback on Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei (ZNKR) iaido.
Please come and visit our site and we are looking forward to your comments.
On Facebook we can be found under "Tamiya Ryu International".
